Community & Press

At Herschel Gelber LLC Personal Injury Law, we believe it is both our duty and our honor to give back to the communities we serve, and we are or have been proudly involved with the following organizations and activities:

Herschel Gelber LLC proudly supports the Perry (NY) Senior High School reading/literacy program.

As part of its commitment to literacy skills for children, Herschel Gelber LLC recently donated $500 to the Perry (NY) Senior High School for the purchase of books for its reading/literacy program.

“It is very important that every child develops lifelong-needed skills to graduate from high school and be successful in this world. This donation will not fix all of the literacy problems here at Perry High School, but it certainly will make a big difference here at our small school,” says Emily Reagan, reading teacher, Perry High School. “One of my goals as a reading teacher is to get students to read in their spare time. Without the support of people like you, I would not be able to reach this goal. Thank you!”

Carvings For A Cause

Re-Tree WNY Carvings for a Cause commissioned by Buffalo Attorney Herschel Gelber

A very special statue was added to the front lawn at the Law Firm of Herschel Gelber in October 2008. It’s a wooden carving of a Herschell carousel horse created by artist Rick Pratt of Corfu (who was present at the dedication) through Carvings For a Cause, which promotes the reuse of trees that were damaged in the October 2006 storm.

Mr. Gelber chose to support Carvings For a Cause and decided on a carousel horse because of the natural tie-in his name has to the Allen Herschell Carousel Factory Museum, which was one of his children’s favorite local attractions to visit when they were younger. The Allen Herschell Companies, which were headquartered in Tonawanda, NY, produced more carousels than any other manufacturer in the early 1900s.

Mr. Gelber also sponsored the October Storm Art Exhibit at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. The exhibit, held one year after the storm, showcased local artists' fine and photographic art from the devastating October 2006 storm that changed the Western New York landscape.
